In Loving Memory of Jason T. McGlone

For Jason, food was a way to care for people.
Jason was a cook with a genuine passion for barbecue. He loved cooking for family and friends, for church and charity events, and enjoyed putting his skills to the test in cooking competitions.
Barbecue was more than a pastime for Jason. The Get Some B-B-Q pig featured here is Jason’s own artwork—a lasting piece of his creativity and his enthusiasm for barbecue.
As head cook at the Delaware Valley Job Corps Center, Jason used his love of food to connect with the young people he served, preparing familiar meals to help them feel comfortable and a little more at home.
Service was just as much a part of Jason’s life. A 25-year member of the East Branch Fire Department, Jason served as Acting Assistant Chief and previously as Fire Police Captain. He devoted countless hours to training, teaching children about fire safety, supporting his community, and honoring veterans through Wreaths Across America.
On July 17, 2025, Jason lost his life in the line of duty while responding to an emergency call.
Following his death, Jason’s family helped support the creation of this wagon for The Source & Dignity Ranch—allowing something that meant so much to Jason to become part of a new story.
This wagon carries pieces of who Jason was: a firefighter, cook, teacher, competitor, friend, and a son, husband and father who found joy in feeding and serving others.

CLIENT ASK
Dignity Ranch is a 30-acre planned residential community in Vero Beach, Florida. Created by local nonprofit The Source, it helps people move from homelessness to stable housing.
In fall 2025, Tony with The Source asked us to build a pioneer-style barbecue wagon for Dignity Ranch’s outdoor kitchen/fellowship area. By December of 2025, with support from a generous donor, the project grew into a fully mobile, self-contained food truck with a barbecue rig and soda system
INTENDED USE
At Dignity Ranch, the wagon serves as a shared kitchen and gathering space. It can also travel to events to support fundraising and awareness for The Source’s missions.
KEY FEATURES
The 5 × 15-foot main wagon has a 5 × 12-foot interior with hot holding, refrigeration, food-service sinks, a soda system, and a Pioneer mini-split to keep the serving area comfortable. The rear chuck box holds a handwashing station for the pitmaster and a condiment refrigerator. The 3 × 5-foot pup wagon carries the barbecue smoker and flat-top griddle.
Our TrailR wagons are built on flatbed trailers for highway towing. For the Florida build, we used a custom trailer with a cantilevered rear deck to support the pup wagon. Todd fabricated the upper steel frame. New SPF lumber was aged to give the wagon box, chuck box, seat, fenders, and cabinetry their weathered appearance. Our signature red wagon wheels were built by hand and mounted on Todd’s drill-operated wheel-lift system.
The hand-sewn Sunbrella bonnets has zippers, tie-downs, and anchors that let them stay in place during travel.
The wagon’s signs and artwork were hand-painted. The Get Some B-B-Q pig logo is Jason McGlone’s original drawing, created before his passing. His artwork and passion for BBQ inspired his family’s involvement in this build.
